"Spring"ing Forward

Alright, so here's just a quick little note about a minor annoyance of mine.  Daylight savings time!  Tonight is daylight savings time and since its march, not only does that mean that I am going to lose an hour of sleep, but I am now going to get an awful nights sleep because I'll wake up every 2 hours worrying that I have slept through my alarm or that it didn't automatically switch, or that it did and yet I had already changed it or etc.  Basically, I am going to wake up tomorrow having no clue what time it is and will probably wander the house after waking up on 2 or three different occasions, checking multiple clocks, before finally deciding its time for me to get up and go to practice.

See, this isn't a problem in the fall because, since you gain an hour, the worst case scenario is that you wake up and realize you can go back to bed for another hour ... GLORIOUS!  Tomorrow, however, I have to meet the guys, at 8am, up at the track for a 2 hr. long run, so while there would be no hard feelings  if I failed to make it (because of this daylight savings time thing), I'd rather not have to do this entire run on my own ... been there, done that (a LOT lately).

Point of the story ... I'd gladly give up the nice extra hour of sleep in the fall in order to rid myself of the stress and annoyance this hour loss gives me.  I mean yes, it will be nice to actually have the sun rise before I start practice on most days now, but if we had never adjusted our clocks in the first place, it would already be that way!  Maybe I should try and get a petition signed to make Austin like some of those mountain regions that don't participate in this ridiculously outdated tradition.  It's the 21st century!  Last time I checked, we now have this invention called electricity that can make darkness light.  I'm not saying, I'm just saying ...

Wish me luck on waking up on time ...

All the best.
