Hiatus Over!
Well, it's been a while since I have been on here and at first the reason was solely that I was frustrated with the way training and racing had been going. I had been dealing with injury, poor performance, poor luck, etc. so between being mildly embarrassed about that and beginning to feel sorry for myself, the posts became easier and easier to ignore. It was hard to hear people continuously tell me I was having a good year, a big year, a breakout year just because of a few highlights when I felt like I was running worse than ever.
I'm done with that. I'm done feeling sorry for myself (I actually have been for quite sometime as you'll soon find out) and I'm ready to continue moving forward with all of my goals, personal and communal, professional and athletic. Things have actually already been moving since my main focus has been getting everything prepared to hit it hard over the next 3 years. My formation of a TEAM here in Austin is underway and our amazing list of inaugural athletes have already migrated to the great City of Austin. We are really excited about the start we have and the results we are anticipating.
Start checking back regularly as I catch you up on what's been going on the past couple months, where I am as of now, and where I'm going because its definitely going to be a ride to get there!

Hey, are there any more spots open on your team? I just started racing again after being injured on and off for the past few years. I've been training only for the mile and can hit a solid 4:25 now. There's a mile road race in San Antonio at the AT&T Center on the 17th in October hosted by the Spurs. If your schedule permits it would be cool for you to come out and run it. I'll more than likely me your best competition and you'll run a fast time. You ran with me at Klein and know how hard I take it out in races. The difference now is that I'm a heck of a lot better and you'll be guranteed to run at least 4:20 racing against me and that's what it'll take for you to win. If I pace you right I may be able to set you up for a 4:05 or better. I can hold a good 3:08 through 1200m, the rest would be up to you. I would fade after that and probably end up with a 4:35.

Hey Brian, good to hear you are back running. Right now we are at our capacity for the number of athletes we can support for the coming year, but will be expanding in the future. Just a few things to keep in mind about the team though is that it is a local Austin group, so if you are in San Antonio or Houston, that would be an issue. Also, because we are going to be funding our athletes, we are implementing standards after this inaugural year that will require new members to have run times that qualify them for USATF Champs and World Champs (~3:58 Mile/3:38 1500). Keep training and good luck with the racing. As far as the Mile in San Antonio, thank you for the invite, but I'm gonna have to pass. I am focused on training for the USATF Indoor Championships right now where I'll be looking to run 3:55 (Mile)/7:45 (3K) and so a mile race in October doesn't really fit into that schedule very well. Thanks again for the invite and all the best.

Hey, no problem and thanks for replying back. I didn't know it was that elite of a group. That's really cool. I'm nowhere near that, but will definitely continue working towards it. I'll be racing indoor meets as well. I hope you win the USATF's. You've always been a great runner and have actually inspired me believe it or not to continue to run. I've seen you overcome runners with a lot of natural born talent with pure hard work and it's pretty cool.
Just FYI, some of the times you've put up suggest you are capable of 3:52 for USATF Indoor. Lagat and Webb are goin down
